Well hello there! It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged…I’ve been in a season of being quite and still and just listening…J but I take a moment today to say something that’s been on my heart for a week or so and wanted to blog about it.
Let’s talk about SEASONS! No not that Four Seasons. LOL although that does sound nice. No, I wanted to talk about the other seasons, seasons of LIFE!
I’m sure you’ve heard a message or two about seasons, “being ready in and out”, “the changing of seasons” etc. etc. that’s good and all, but I wanted to talk more about seasons in our lives and how to really handle them, how to view them and how to walk out your season effectively.
First let me say that seasons are good, without them we can become stagnant, dry, stale and we will never learn or grow in the plans of God without them, which is why seasons are placed (naturally and spiritually) to help us grow, change and reflect.
We must be obedient to God’s calling upon our life, we must be totally open to HIS will and not ours. Sometimes we can let our desires control our destiny. I’ll be the first to admit there were times that I thought it was my destiny but really only my desire. We must listen to the voice of God when we are searching for the direction in our lives and not get ahead of what we want. All of us are called, we all have a direction, a plan from God to enhance His kingdom (Jeremiah 29:11). We are not limited by man, by a church, ministry, people, materials or even our gifts, those things are not what decide our season. God decides when we are in season. If winter decided to change its season to summer it will through everything off, you imagine CHRISTMAS in JULY? And 4th of July in December? It doesn’t fit, there’s a schedule of seasons, we all know them, we expect some greater than others and others we dread! Needless to say we have to go through them!
Sometimes we can get comfortable with our season, cozy. We like it there, we don’t want to go from here. It’s easy, fits just right, great pay, love the weather, the place, it fits just right…blah blah blah…be careful to get too comfortable in your season, no matter how many days, months, years your there, be ready for anything, stay alert and keep listening for that next direction, If you don’t, you might just miss it, unless of course you are ignoring God’s voice, trying to stay when your released to move forward. Don’t ignore it yet listen and do what God wants you to do!
Obedience, be obedient and follow HIS will, HIS direction! I respect people that really want to follow the will of God, really want to follow His direction upon their own life, they are living a life of obedience.
There are season where you might be in for a little longer than what you’ve expected, sometimes it can drag and there’s a moment that you say “get me out of here” then God speaks and renews the season you’re in. He needs you there, He has a plan for you right there, the season is not over, although sometimes you think it is, He says it’s not!
Then there are seasons that your there for a good time and then God changes your path, your plan and your directed to another season of unknown faces and unknown places. Not because you’re bored, not because of man, not because of gifts and people, because GOD said its time to move forward. I’ve had people that I love that has been in the same season with me, we practically grew up together, physically and spiritually and then God moves them forward while I stay behind and finish out my season. It’s sad at first and you really don’t want them to go but you release them in the name of Jesus because you understand that it’s not about you, it’s not about them, it’s about GOD, His work, His will, His way!
Then there are seasons that you wish you would be obedient and just GO! You’ve stayed to long and you know it’s time to move forward. You become more of a stumbling block when you’re not obedient to move in the season you were in, you’ll start hurting, get offended, you’ll hurt others and destroy lives, you just don’t fit, the puzzle has changed, pieces have changed and your trying to fit into a spot that wasn’t created for you to fit. When God calls you for a season, a segment and He then calls you out, MOVE FORWARD and be Obedient! What are you still doing here!? GO! LEAVE! MOVE FORWARD with what God has for your life! Don’t stay behind and live a miserable life but be obedient and walk in the very thing God has for you. Don’t look upon others and judge them where there at, but focus on your own race, your own walk, less you be judged.
All I’m saying is SEASONS are GOOD and if your under obedience it’s even BETTER! If it’s not His will. Pray about it, get in line with His obedience, otherwise it’s going to be a hard path to walk until you get back in the purpose and plan He has for you.
Well I pray that God has you were You belong. We are all in this WORLD for HIS KINGDOM! To fulfill the great commission! I hate seeing Christians tearing up each other because of church, because of ministry, because of material things or gifting(S). He has not called us for that purpose, but nevertheless to become the church, to be hands and feet for Jesus. Stop focusing on earthly things, it won’t last long. Focus on heavenly things, connect, link up and let’s do this together, from all corners of the earth! We are a team, we are a family fulfilling the call He has assigned to us to reach the lost and the broken. Follow the season God has for you and don’t be afraid to move forward in the very plan he has, don’t be impatient with the plan he has for you now and don’t stay were you don’t belong anymore…J
Ok, now we can talk about the FOUR SEASONS…WHEN AND WHERE? LOL
Love,
Joshua
