Have you ever felt like you wanted to quit? ever felt like you wanted to just stop and not do it anymore? Ever wanted to say "YOU DO IT, I'M DONE!" Yesterday was one of those days for me! Things weren't going the way I expected them to go!
I'm the youth worship leader at Fusion Youth Church. I'm called for what I do at Fusion and love it with all of my heart, soul and mind! I have a passion for music and leading this generation into the presence of God. ....BUT sometimes I feel like "I'M DDOOOOOOONNNNEEEEE!!!" last night I think was one of those nights before worship service that I could have literally just sat down and have someone else lead worship, a "YOU DO IT" mentality! Practice didn't go the way I expected and I became frustrated. As I was in the bathroom re-cooperating, I was reminded that I was called to do what I do and that even though sometimes we feel like giving up, we press on through!!!!
I immediately knew I had to pray and get in the right mind, I couldn't go on with the frustration and being in the flesh, I had to quickly shift gears and re-focus myself and ask God to take over!
It was so good to hear that because it encouraged me to get back on my feet and push away the frustration and the thoughts of giving up!
So know that if your called to do something, whether it be a worship leader, missionary, pastor, school teacher, musican, or whatever it may be, just know that if God called you, DON'T GIVE UP! There will be times that you want to quit and just stop, but DON'T GIVE UP! When life gets hard and gets you frustrated, DON'T GIVE UP. When you feel like you can't meet that goal or hit that note or finish that paper, DON'T GIVE UP!
God honors those who NEVER GIVE UP, Press on through because the outcome is greater then the beginning! "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding!" (Prov.3:5) Sometimes we lean on our own understanding and that's how we end up wanting to quit. We gotta trust in God that he has it under control!
With that being said, Worship service was Phenomenal last night and God did an amazing work from start to finish! It was like the Holy Spirit breathed on us and the rest was history! WOW! I'm amazed and reminded that this is why I do what I do and would never want to give it up for world!
