Pages are turning and new chapter will soon begin…

Back in March a really close friend of mine was offered a position as a youth pastor at one of the campuses at his church. I got a call from him soon after he accepted the position and he presented me with an idea to move over to Arkansas to assist him in the youth ministry, leadership team and worship. Of course since I am the dreamer and the sporadic adventurer the idea seemed so intriguing. However I had to “pump my breaks” and be wise with the decisions that were presented to me.
Each month my friend would call and say “come on up”…and each time I would cringe and my stomach would turn at the thought of actually doing it. The opportunity grew bigger and bigger and I couldn’t contain my thoughts of actually pursuing the idea of moving, yet perceived with caution and continued praying about it for His timing.

I asked God to help me in show my next step in my life, I was beginning to get restless and I knew I needed to do something that was part of my calling, the 9-5 job wasn’t cutting it and although I was blessed to have a job, that job was driving me crazy and knew this isn’t was I was created to do. I knew God was up to something.

At the end of May they announced that my office was shutting down and our positions were being dissolved. My first thoughts that came across my mind when the announcement was made was ARKANSAS. Immediately I thought this would be my opportunity to actually pursue the move. I prayed, sought council and asked “is this my green light?”
Ladies and Gentlemen, my Floridians, Facebook friends and Blog readers, I AM moving to Arkansas on August 3rd. To most of you reading this now, you’re probably thinking, that’s really really soon but the process started a few months ago and I didn’t just decide at this very moment. I’ve been thinking and praying and seeking guidance for quite sometime now.

I really do feel that through prayer and guidance that this is what God would have me next. I will be working closely with my friend August Ortiz (Youth Pastor of New Life Church in Cabot, AR) and will be plugging in with New Life Church. I’m assisting him in leadership, worship and just serving the lovely people in Arkansas. I will also be working on my own music and writing songs for a future worship album project.

This is a huge step for me, never really moved from my home town and never really experience any other state except Florida, so this is a huge faith leap and my trust is in the Lord. Since my positions are voluntarily, I will be finding a job up there to cover my finances. The cool thing is that my job has paid us severance, so they are basically helping me with the move ☺ It’s a God thing.
So that’s the big news, in the next couple of weeks I will be preparing, packing and planning as I transition my current location Florida to Arkansas.

Please keep praying for guided footsteps and favor.
I’ll keep you posted on my trip and move, so stay tuned!

Joshua Palmer

This is so wonderful for you Josh! I really believe that God had this plan for you and just needed the right timing. He does know all, and he must have known what was going down at NFS and that would be the right time for you. I'm very proud of you and your commitment.
