Snapshot Pt 1

A couple of weekends ago I had the opportunity to attend an event called "Snapshot". "Snapshot" is a weekend event hosted by a student's program called Twentyfour Seven giving you insight of what the program is about. August, who's a 2nd year at this program and a very good friend of mine invited me up to catch the vision and the purpose as to why he's been involved and attends Twentyfour Seven. I wanted to show my support and needed to get away from my routine and was curious myself as to what goes on and so I decided to attend.
I've been in an awkward place in my life and the direction God is heading me too and I was hungry for something different, my soul longed for discipleship, for leadership, for challenge. I was hungry for love, for passion, for life! I didn't really know what to expect, but I came expecting, wanting to get something from this "Snapshot" weekend.

I arrived Thursday, it was a day early, but I wanted to see my good friend and just experience the full weekend completely. Everyone was nice and I got to see a little of the behind the scenes of twentyfour seven. I got to see everyone work hard for their missions training and skits that they were preparing for Mexico. I got to hang out that night with August's team and got to go see movie and just hang out a bit before a full busy weekend.

Friday, Snapshot started, we had breakfast and then a time of prayer and worship, which was one of the beginging highlights of my weekend, As soon as we started worship and prayer, I cried the whole time, just sitting at the feet of Jesus. It was a refreshing time in the presence of my King. Then it was small groups time and we dived into the word, picking and chewing on the scriptures given, it was great time of learning and studying the different perspectives of the scripture. By this time it was lunch and James Bennette, the director of 24/7 took us Snapshot participants out to lunch, there we had a great time of just hearing this leader's heart about not just only the program but about a Christian's life in general, I tell you those two hours of conversation and sharing a heart to heart conversation is what I was longing for many many months. Someone who's a genuine leader, not proud or flashy about what they are in charge of or what they do, but a leader who is interested in the relationships and the heart of God and relaying the purpose of who we are in Christ and how we are to seek and find purpose and passion for the calling that God has placed on our lives. He wasn't giving us a sales pitch, he was giving us real talk! It was so refreshing, not only was I full physically but spirtiually I was empowered by great God conversation!

The day ended with a time with our teams and playing games, followed by dinner, a night fire, hot chocolate, a game of air hockey and great conversations....

To be continued...
