I'm writing to you today from a place of newness. I've realized that everyday living must be renewed, the past was yesterday, the present is today, the future tomorrow. Today is a new day, a renewed day to live right, to walk in his freedom, to embrace His peace and love, to be under His mercy and grace, to speak his word, to laugh and play, to breath another breath of LIFE! Today is today! What was of yesterday was of yesterday and all though we would sometimes want to go back and make it right, what's done is done and now we face today. Amazingly we face a new, clean canvas to draw on, new decisions to make and new challenges to overcome!
Lately I was introduced to a new song by Ricardo Sanchez called "Moving Forward", what an amazing song! (look it up on youtube) As I sit here, listening to this track over and over again the words begin to embed in my spirit and revelation comes forth as the Lord speaks to me! Moving Forward...not going back....that is what we need to be living in. OK yeah...so we messed up, OK we sinned, we fell, but Hasn't he already forgave us? do we have the right to stay there? NO! We must move forward, that is what God would want, to just keep going forward....(hahaha)....God is so awesome!
When I hear this song, it takes me into a journey (I am a very visual person) so as I hear the words I picture myself, moving forward, forward beyond my circumstance, beyond my sins, my problems, struggles, hurt, mistakes, incapability's and I'm literally moving forward! Not going back...why would I? it never got me anywhere.
MOVE FORWARD...sometimes I think you even need to push yourself...(hahahaha)....speak to yourself and say IT'S TIME TO MOVE FORWARD! Don't be afraid, Jesus is with you, He's already moved ahead of you and is simply just calling you to follow Him. This is so liberating for me and hopefully it can be liberating to you. How many times have I dowelled Indian style in my pity party and my excuses when I could have just gotten up, dusted off and walked forward. Every step you take, something is gained, more wisdom, knowledge, understanding, revelation! Every step you take forward He starts to make ALL things New! (Hahaha)...yeah that's right!
It reminds me of a part of a movie I saw a few weeks ago, "Hancock"...The main character, Will Smith is united with His Wife both of them are super humands, the problem is that each time they are united they become more mortal. There's a particular scene where in order for Mr. Hancock to regain his and her strength they must be apart...Hancock has just been attacked and is laying on the ground helpless. In order to regain his strength and powers he must move away from the thing that has weakened him and almost killed him, knowing this he steps forward and begins to regain his strength, each step is recharged with power until he is fully restored!
We must step away from the very thing that weakens us and can almost destroy us and step forward to the very thing that helps us gain strength and power to overcome! JESUS!
Your just one step closer to your destiny!
One last thing...the bridge of "Moving Forward" proclaims that "He Makes All Things New!" just like our friend Hancock, he was made new after moving forward. As I keep listening to this repeated phrase "He Makes All Things New!" Here is what I see:
God, as this powerful surgeon! Taking things out, putting things in, spinning, pulling, constructing, stretching, commanding, working and doing surgery on what it seems like a master piece of some sort,making all things new, he's delighted, he's laughing and enjoys working on this broken master piece! He's working at the sound of the master piece's symphonies and it's life song, colors and lights burst within and now as if all at once, stops! He gazes upon His NEWLY master piece He's re-constructed. One last finish touch as he inhales one big breath and begins to breath on His master piece, as the breath of the one who made it begins to covers the lifeless creation immediately it comes ALIVE and burst of LIFE flows out. It's alive and made new!
I consider His Master Piece as you and I, messed up, lifeless creations. He longs to make all things new within us and so by surrendering my life and moving forward He begins the surgical procedure with in my life!
Would you allow yourself today to move forward and not look back? To surrender your life, your giftings and abilities, your fears and insecurities, your bravery and weaknesses and allow Him to re-construct you today? Search within yourself and examine the areas that need newness, He just doesn't want to make one thing new he wants to MAKE ALL THINGS NEW!
....besides who wants old stuff anyway...hehehe :)
