Singing the Songs of Love

Yesterday’s morning service at NDIC was awesome! Things are definitely changing @ NDIC, people are getting saved left and right, they are beginning to experience the true love of God!

Yesterday morning was one of those days. “Getting Your Song Back” was the message, it was the purest, most real messages I’ve ever heard, the LOVE of God was really strong. I guess the message really gripped my heart, only because I relate a lot to music and songs and so needless to say, he got me at the title of the message. The message was awesome, I paid close attention to what God was speaking through this man and feasted on the truths of nuggets that were given. But if I may, I would like to fast forward to the end of service and what God really did during that time.

You see, I was reminded and renewed by what our services offer to the people, SALVATION. It didn’t really hit me until we made the salvation call, people from all ages trickled and flooded the front. Teenagers, young adults, old and young, rich and poor, small and big, black and white, they were all there for one purpose, to receive the love of the father and to get saved! More than that, the LOVE of God was so rich, was so strong, it squeezed my heart, renewed me because I have forgotten the core reason as to why we are here, I have been selfish and was convicted by the fact that I have not loved more than your usual outreaches and missions trip.People need love every day and they seek for the true love, the love of Christ! I weep only because somehow I re-caught the father’s heart! Seeing those people being hugged and loved on, to see their faces full of tears and seeing them being set free from the grip of the enemy just freed me from myself.

I have been selfish, and God, please forgive me, thank you for renewing my heart and opening my eyes yet again to the real reason why we have been formed and birth in this world. I think that sometimes we build ourselves up too much, we lock ourselves away in our rooms for hours and hours and we stick to our own little worship services and clicky groups yet while each minute people are dying not knowing the LOVE of God. Don’t get me wrong, hours with Jesus alone is needed and daily we should spend time with the father, but I have come to the conclusion, that the core reason for why we spend time with our heavenly father is so that he may renew us and refill us to go OUT and share the love and salvation that HE has given us. Let’s follow the model of Jesus and His ministry, he roamed the streets of prostitution, druggies, drunks and a ton of sinners only to Love on them, bringing salvation and setting them free, to speak the words “come follow me”…to bring Hope to the hopeless and restore those in need. There were times that He would meet the father and ask for renewal, to get refilled so He can go out and about the streets, healing, delivering, restoring, renewing, celebrating, disciple-ling, multiplying and saving people’s lives! AND when it came time for Him to give His life, He conversed with the father, cried and sweated, because of our burdens, pain and sin he was to carry. Our Jesus, born from a manger, who came for a purpose, to die for the sin of mankind.

“Action can speak louder than words” and that’s what our Jesus did, He acted upon what was spoken, don’t just let your lips flap about in the wind, but act upon what you speak and what the Bible says and do it with the Love of Christ, no matter how hard it is, nothing can be harder than our Jesus carrying our filthy sins, getting lashed and whipped, spit on and ridiculed, kicked and screamed at, pierced and nailed..nothing can compare the death He died for our sins.

And so, today I will let the Love of God shine out to the hurting and the broken in hopes that they may experience that same love, restoring and renewing them so they may do the same to others.

This will be my new song for 2010, living the love, loving others with all that I have.

God please continue to renew my heart and show me everyday how to love on those who need you and need your never ending love.
